Albert York Jr. (Chief), age 62, of London, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022. He leaves behind six stepchildren, T.J., Tim, R.D., Paul, Barbie, Emma; four siblings, George York & wife Linda, Diane Frazier, Velma Smith, Kaye Hubbard; his nephews, Brad Frazier, Mike Frazier & wife Leslie, Corey York, Jason York, Eric York, Chris York, Gary Bruner, Joe Smith, Billy Smith II & wife Tracie; his nieces, Davita Jones, Brigitlee Adams & husband Roy, Whitney Collier & husband Randy, Lindsay York, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy York; his parents, Albert York Sr. and Gracie Mae Young York; his grandparents, George and Ida Dell Young; and by four siblings, Alberta York, Ida Jean York, Betty Geraldine York, Larry York; Junior was a retired truck driver who loved his family, especially his nephews Corey and Jason. He took on the role of father to them. He showed them daily kindness, patience and love. He wanted to instill in them the true meaning of character. He knew he wouldn’t be with them forever, so he wanted to teach them how to be men with values. A graveside service for Albert York Jr. will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Hopewell Cemetery in Lily, Kentucky with Forrester Baker Jr. officiating. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
