Billie Mae Crockett

Billie Mae Crockett, age 85, of Green Road, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026.

She leaves behind three children, Trish Dunn of Midway, KY, Cathy James of Barbourville, KY, Heather Smith & husband Jerry of Woollum, KY; one sister, Peggy Coley of Manchester, KY; seven grandchildren, Nikki James, Laura Bowman, Leslie Traugott, Jerrika Smith, Michael Traugott, Meghan Traugott, Gage Smith; five great grandchildren, Kamryn James, Ezra York, Parker Bowman, Zander Newton, Joseph Stamper; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Crockett; her parents, Sheff & Mary Hubbard White; her son, Michael Harris; and by three siblings, David White, Margaret Romans and Dale White.

Billie was one of the strongest women to have ever lived. In her 85 years on this Earth, she endured more hardship than she ever deserved, yet somehow, she always found the strength to persevere. Through it all, she held tightly to her faith in the Lord and never lost the kind, gentle soul that made her so special.

She always had a kind word, a warm meal, and a safe place for anyone who crossed the threshold of her home or became a part of her life. She had a way of making people feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. She was unintentionally hilarious and never once fussed when she found herself the butt of a joke between Heather and Nikki.

Her family will spend the rest of their lives trying to be more like her—holding onto their faith, loving others well, and making people feel safe and cared for. Her legacy will live on through all of those who were lucky enough to know and love her.

A funeral service honoring Bille Mae Crockett will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cottongim Cemetery in Clay County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Sunday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
