Billie Evans

–

London, KY

Billie Evans, age 94, of London, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly.

She leaves behind one son, Danny Evans of London, KY; five grandchildren, Lauren Morgan & husband James of Fayetteville, NC, Ryan Evans & wife Bridget of Berea, KY, John Nantz Evans & wife Shreeya of Lexington, KY, Emily Evans of Richmond, KY, and Blake Evans of London, KY; three great grandchildren, Willa Grace Lee Morgan, Christopher James “Beau” Morgan III, and Max Cooper Evans; three siblings, Sue Reams, Marilyn McVay, and Eddie Wilhoit & wife Cathy, all of London, KY; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gene Evans on February 13, 1988; her parents, John Wilhoit & Lennie Jones Wilhoit; her beloved son, Bruce Duane Evans on August 31, 2017; and by nine siblings, Margaret Brown, Joyce Helen Hale, Lois Hale, Nancy Brown, Jan Bollinger, Ronald Wilhoit, Don Wilhoit, Johnny Wilhoit and Kenny Wilhoit.

Billie could make you laugh, tell you exactly what you needed to hear, and remind you that she was right all along—usually in the same conversation. She had a story for everything, especially from her childhood, and hearing those stories became part of knowing her and understanding where she came from.

Her life was fueled by these deep relationships with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a woman of incredible faith and a longtime, dedicated member of East Pittsburg Baptist Church. Granny Billie lived by a strict code of love and work ethic, frequently reminding those she loved, “Don’t put off to tomorrow what could be done today.”

Billie expressed her love through her hands—gardening, canning, baking, sewing, making exquisite quilts, a hug and running any errand to get closer to her goals.

A funeral service honoring Billie Evans will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Trevor Brummett and Jeff Lewis officiating.
