Danny Gene Pittman, age 81, of London, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He leaves behind five children, Danny Ray Pittman & wife Angela of London, KY, Dennis Pittman of East Bernstadt, KY, Natasha Brummett & husband Doug of East Bernstadt, KY, Carrie Howard & husband Jason of East Bernstadt, KY, Gretchen Pittman of London, KY; eight siblings, Larry Pittman & wife Barb, Mary Yaste & husband Gerald, Wilma Sorrell & husband Brian, Sharon Purdom & husband Scott, Barbara Sullivan & husband Claude, David Pittman & wife Kim, Brandi Durbin & husband Tim, Amy Sullivan & husband Chris; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred McKinley Pittman & Martha Ellen Yocum Pittman; and by two siblings, Mary Pittman & Alfred McKinley Pittman Jr. A proud Navy veteran, Danny served his country with honor as a chef in the United States Navy, where he developed the culinary skills that would become one of his trademarks throughout life. He became widely known for his exceptional pizza and homemade bread, with many saying there was simply no one who could match the care, craftsmanship, and flavor he put into every loaf and every pie. Danny was also the owner and operator of Pittman Moving Company, where his strong work ethic and commitment to helping others earned him the respect of customers and friends alike. Whatever task was before him, Danny approached it with dedication and a determination to see it through. A man of many talents, Danny had a deep love for music and could often be found playing the guitar, banjo, or piano. He possessed an incredible knowledge of classic film and television, able to identify nearly any actor or actress from the 1950s through the 1980s with ease. His memory for the stars of a bygone era was nothing short of remarkable. Though Danny was a private person by nature, those who truly knew him understood the depth of his heart. He was incredibly giving, always willing to lend a helping hand when someone was in need. His kindness was genuine and often offered without recognition or expectation of anything in return. At the same time, Danny had a stubborn streak and a bit of meanness that became part of the colorful personality his family and friends came to know and love. He was never one to sugarcoat his opinions, and you always knew exactly where you stood with him. Danny's life was defined by service, hard work, music, friendship, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. His unique spirit, sharp wit, extraordinary talents, and unwavering individuality will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who called him family or friend. May his memory bring comfort, laughter, and gratitude for a life truly lived on his own terms. A graveside service honoring Danny Gene Pittman will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Andes Cemetery in East Bernstadt, KY.
