Delia Maggard Cornett

Delia Maggard Cornett, age 94, of Lily, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025. She leaves behind three children, Carl Cornett of London, KY, Kenneth Wade Cornett of Lexington, KY, Paul Darren Cornett of Lily, KY; one grandson, Shane Joe Cornett of Lily, KY; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Cornett; her parents, Floyd & Judy Alice Maggard; and by eight siblings, Covey Maggard, Jim Maggard, Bessie Boggs, Chris Maggard, Stella Joseph, Versus Day, Allie Landrum, Mary Maggard. Delia was a devoted homemaker and faithful servant of the Lord. She was a woman of unwavering faith, and she found great joy in her relationship with God and her cherished church family. Delia was a proud Appalachian Mountain girl, deeply connected to her roots and the simple beauty of the life she built. She poured her love into her family, always offering kindness, wisdom, and warmth to those around her. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she lived as a testament to God’s grace and love. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she has left this earthly home, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. A funeral service honoring Delia Maggard Cornett will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Floyd Maggard Cemetery in Cutshin, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
