Donald E. Rhodes

Donald E. Rhodes, age 74, of East Bernstadt, KY passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at his home. He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Carol Sue Clark Rhodes; four children, Donald E. Rhodes Jr. & wife Carla of West Union, OH, Penny I. Pennington & husband David of Lenoir, NC, Tammy L. Tackett & husband Anthony R. of East Bernstadt, KY, David W. Rhodes & wife Evie of London, KY; three siblings, Mearl Rhodes & wife Charlotte of Springfield, KY, Floyd Rhodes & wife Jacqueline of Stoney Fork, KY, Imogene Mullins & husband Edward of Gordon, KY; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lum Lester Rhodes and Inez Ester Phillips Rhodes; one sister, Doris Ann White. Donald was a coal miner for Blue Diamond Coal Company for 21 years. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Funeral services for Donald E. Rhodes will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Jeff Mounce officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in East Bernstadt, KY. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
