Ester Sams

Ester Sams, age 86, of Tyner, KY, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital in London. She leaves behind two children, Shirley Brewer & husband Phillip of Tyner, and Darrell Sams & wife Irma of London; five siblings, Gene Saylor of Arjay, KY, George Saylor of Mt. Sterling, KY, Stacy Saylor of Arjay, KY, Christine Harrison of Manchester, KY, Martha “Doll” Burchfield of Richmond, KY; five grandchildren, Cody Fields, Matthew Sams, Gary Hasty, Michael Brian Sams, Devon Sams; one great granddaughter, Haley Sams, plus a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Sams; her parents, Sim and Laura Sizemore Saylor; two sons, Ferlin Sams and Terry Sams; eight siblings, Katherine Saylor, Charles Saylor, Jerry Saylor, Eunice Clouse, Evelyn Fox, Noah Saylor, Ray Saylor, Pauline Saylor; one grandson, Ferlin Sams Jr. Ester was a member of Morgan Branch Pentecostal Church in Clay Co. She was a homemaker who loved to garden, loved flowers, loved to fish, and enjoyed being a grandmother. Funeral services for Ester Sams will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at House-Rawlings Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Old Harris Cemetery in Clay County. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 23, 2019 beginning at 6:30 p.m. also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
