Jack Wenford Craft, 91, passed away at his residence on March 8, 2025. Born on July 9, 1933, Jack was a proud graduate of Bush High School’s Class of 1952. Shortly after completing his education, he honorably served his country as a veteran of the Korean War from 1952 to 1955. He later retired from Laurel Grocery. His dedication and service were a testament to his strong character and commitment to those around him. Jack was a devoted family man who cherished the time spent with his loved ones. He leaves behind his beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Dorothy “Babe” Wilson Craft. Together, they built a life filled with love and memories, raising their children: Mike Craft (Melody), Debbie Allen (Terry), and Donnie Craft (Linda). His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Casey Craft, Shannon Craft, Terra Allen, Trevor Allen (Whitney), Jacob Craft (Whitney), Benjamin Craft (Morgan), Bridgette McGowen (Gary), and Adam Craft (Hyuli). He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Jacklyne Batsche (Alex), Blake Craft, Treston Webb (Perla), Tinleigh “Sunshine” Webb, Olivia Craft, Weston Craft, Fallon Craft, Rhett Allen, Wren Allen, Vivienne Blankenship, and Eleanor Blankenship; as well as great-great-grandchildren: Hadley Batsche, Hallie Batsche, and Sophia Webb. Additionally, he shared a special bond with his bonus family: Darrel and Sue Hignite, Sherry and Lonnie Osborne, Conner Mathis, and several grand-dogs—though none could compare to his favorite companion, George Allen. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, C. Frank and Nila Parker Craft; two sisters, Geneva Underwood and Miva Craft; one brother, Marvin Craft; and two sons, Randy and Doug Craft. A man who had an undeniable presence wherever he went, Jack found joy in simple pleasures—whether it was riding around the farm or keeping an eye on the weather as the family’s self-proclaimed "Weather Man." His warmth and humor made him unforgettable to all who knew him. Jack was a long-time member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. A funeral service honoring Jack Wenford Craft will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Doug Wilson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the local DAV Chapter 158 of Keavy, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Wednesday beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
