Jake Burkhart

Jake Burkhart, age 83, of London, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. He leaves behind three children, Scott Burkhart, Leticia Weaver & husband Donald, Alisa Ackerman; two siblings, Phyllis Alexandra, Helen Hammons; nine grandchildren, Lakota Weaver & Amber, Bailey Geller & Alex, Madison Jones & Brad, Scottie Weaver & Karla, Mackenzie Roark & Shane, Jesse Weaver, Jebediah Burkhart, Judah Weaver, Cody Ackerman; ten great grandchildren, Malakhi, Kanaan, Theodore, Clay, Cora, Addaline, Oliver, Bryson, Sadie, Sydney; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Burkhart and Myrtle Hammons Stillings; and by four siblings, Johnny Burkhart, Judy Burkhart, Arvil Burkhart, Geraldine Reed. Jake was a faithful provider for his family throughout his life. He was a retired phone splicer and contractor, known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, a chapter of his life he carried with quiet honor. Jake found joy in farming, working the land, and spending time with old cars—appreciating their craftsmanship and history. Whether in the fields or the garage, he was happiest when his hands were busy and his work had purpose. Jake was a man of Baptist faith and lived his beliefs through service, humility, and devotion to his family. He will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart, and the example he set as a hardworking provider. A funeral service honoring Jake Burkhart will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Jason Neil Ivy officiating. Interment will follow at the Burkhart Weaver Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
