John Glen Carter, age 57, of Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, William S. Carter & Thelma “Faulkner” Carter; and by his brother, Josh Ronald Carter. John was a kind and gentle soul, whose heart overflowed with love for others and who never met a stranger. John worked for many years at SEKRI, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly spirit. He truly loved people—whether it was helping the elderly, meeting someone new, or simply sharing a kind word, John had a heart for everyone. He couldn’t stand to see anything or anyone mistreated and always tried to make the world a little better wherever he went. He loved to swim, travel, and be on the go, especially if it involved going to church or anything church-related. His faith was a guiding light in his life, and he found great joy in worship and fellowship. His faithful companion, his beloved dog Baby Girl, was never far from his side. John was the kind of person who made you feel seen, heard, and loved. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, church family, co-workers, and all those fortunate enough to have crossed his path. A Celebration of Life for John Glen Carter will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Corbin, Kentucky. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements. John's friends are requesting that donation be made to the funeral home in his honor to help offset costs for his services.
