John Schell

John Schell, age 72, of London, KY passed away on Monday, December 5, 2018 at Saint Joseph Hospital in London, KY. He leaves behind his loving wife, Margie Schell; two sons, Denver McCoy Schell & Sarah Merril of London, KY, John Lee Schell of London, KY; four siblings, Oliver Schell & wife Wanda of London, KY, Denver Schell of London, KY, Helen Collins & husband Dale of Alexandria, KY, William Schell & wife Mary of London, KY; eleven grandchildren, Deva Schell, Steven Rogers, Courtney Schell, Jamie Rose, Margie Lesha Schell, Falisa Lucas, Nathan Melton, Brian Hammons, Jordan Burkhart, Amber Brady; five great-grandchildren, Liam Davidson, Raylnn Burkhart, Eliza Witt, Hunter Witt, Elias Persinger, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy & Berttie McKnight Schell; three daughters, Belinda Brady, Glenda Gross, Deronda Marie Schell; five siblings, Dorthy Baker, Arthia Hammons, Arthur Schell, Pauline Smith, Kathellen Sexton; one grandson, Steven Gross. John was a floor operator for Laurel Grocery for over five years, ran a backhoe and worked in construction and in the surface mines but above all, he was the family mentor that everyone always looked to for answers. Funeral services for John Schell will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Reverend Johnny Schell officiating. Burial will follow at the Schell Family Cemetery in London, KY. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 8, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the funeral home to help with the funeral expenses. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
