John Randell Smith

John Randell Smith, age 51, of London, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.

He leaves behind two children, Makayla Smith of London, KY, Austin Smith of St. Petersburg, FL; three siblings, Troy Smith & wife Missie, Jacqueline Herren & husband Walter, Melissa Creech & husband Edsel, all of London, KY; nieces and nephews, Justin, Kendra, Kelsie, Dalton, Caitlyn, Blake, Liam, Greyson, Chloe, Grace, Tate, Madilyn; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack & Gaytha Shell Smith.

Randell will be remembered for his love of family, his appreciation for the outdoors, and the simple joys that made life special to him. He was employed with Smith Lawn Care, where he devoted his time and efforts to his work.

Randell found happiness in the things he loved most, including hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. Whether spending time in the great outdoors or enjoying a quiet moment with those closest to him, he cherished the experiences and memories that made life meaningful.

One of Randell's special companions was his beloved dog, Daisy, who held a dear place in his heart. The love and companionship they shared brought him much happiness.

Above all, Randell loved his family. The time he spent with them was precious, and the memories they created together will remain a lasting reminder of the love he shared. His presence in their lives will be deeply missed, but the love he gave and the memories he leaves behind will forever be treasured.

Randell held to the Baptist faith, which was an important part of his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, and he will be remembered with love, gratitude, and affection by those whose lives he touched.

A funeral service honoring John Randell Smith will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Brother Steve Smith and Brother Danny Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Sunday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Troy Smith, Justin Taylor, Dalton Smith, Blake Shell, Darren Shell and Edsel Creech. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
