Johnny Wayne Moore was born April 10, 1964 and passed from this earth on October 16, 2026, at 12:18 a.m. leaving him at the age of 62 years, 6 months and 6 days.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Eugene and Nellie Rose (Hammons) Moore; his sister, Debra Jean (Diggy) Moore; his grandparents; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is survived by his sons, Johnny Eugene Moore and wife Joann, Jesse Allen Moore and friend Erika; grandchildren, Braylie Moore, Beu Moore, and Wynter Howard. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Theo (Ricky) Moore and wife Reesa; his sister, Connie Sue (Moore) Ellison and husband Bill; nieces Rebecca (Ellison) VanGelderen and husband Nathan, and Amanda Ellison; great-niece Joelle VanGelderen and great-nephew Oliver VanGelderen; Aunt Marlene Riggs and Aunt Anne Riggs; plus a host of cousins and friends.
Special love, heartfelt thanks, and deepest appreciation go to Richard and Reesa Moore for opening their home to Johnny and surrounding him with the love, comfort, and care he needed. Their kindness and devotion gave him a place of peace and the reassurance of being cared for by those who loved him dearly.
Johnny’s love for his family, especially his boys, was immeasurable. The phone calls he shared with them each night meant so much to him, keeping them close to his heart no matter the circumstances. He found comfort in the simple pleasures of life, spending his evenings watching his favorite old-time shows, listening to gospel music, and enjoying The Price Is Right. He also loved sharing stories from his childhood,
reminiscing about days gone by, and, true to his nature, bringing smiles and laughter to those around him. Johnny had a way of making people laugh and leaving them with a story to remember.
During the final several months of his life, Johnny spent much of his time in and out of the hospital. Through it all, his greatest wish was simply to go home. Twice, he was blessed with the opportunity to return to the place he longed to be. But on October 16, 2026, after making it back to his earthly home one last time, Johnny began his final journey. Just a couple of hours later, he arrived at his Heavenly home, where he will know no more pain or suffering. Though his family will miss him beyond words, they can find comfort in knowing that his longing to go home was finally fulfilled, and he is now at peace in the presence of his Lord.
