Lola Jean Collett

Lola Jean Collett, age 59 of Cedar Lane Apts. in London, KY, was born March 14, 1957 in Asher, KY. She was welcomed into the arms of her loving Savior and Lord on Saturday, August 13 at Hospice of the Bluegrass. She was a devout Christian and loved going to church. Lola enjoyed traveling, attending Bluegrass festivals, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She had an unconditional love for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Lola was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy & Oscar Collett; paternal grandmother, Dora Roark; maternal grandparents, Wiley & Cloe Collett; brothers, T.J. and Wiley Collett and the father of her children, Shelby Hoskins. She leaves behind her former husband and special companion of 34 years, Charles G. Riley of London, KY; one beloved daughter, Jeanie Pennington and husband Steve, also of London, KY; one beloved son, Michael William Hoskins and wife Tonya of Middlesboro, KY; five sisters, Thelma Hubbard of Asher, KY, Cloe Jessie Collett of Jack’s Creek, Hattie Collett of Stinnett, KY, Daisy Brock of Tazewell, TN, Georgia Collett of Stinnett, KY; a host of beloved nieces and nephews; four beloved grandchildren, Jaden S. Pennington of London, KY, Tyler Phelps of London, KY, Skylar Hoskins of Onawa, IA, Aligha Fee Hoskins of Middlesboro, KY; special uncle, Mannual Roark; and special friend, Molly Hubbard. Funeral services for Lola Jean Collett will be conducted on Friday, August 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Bowen’s Creek Baptist Church in Essie, KY with Pastor Gary Elzia officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowen’s Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17 at House-Rawlings Funeral Home in London, KY. An additional visitation will be held after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18 at Bowen’s Creek Baptist Church in Essie, KY. IN lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to House-Rawlings Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses. House-Rawlings Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
