Richard Morgan

Richard Morgan, age 90, of London, KY passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Laurel Creek Health Care Center in Manchester, KY. He leaves behind his loving wife, Jewell Amburgey Morgan; two children, Keith Preston Morgan and Mitzi Morgan Benge & husband Teddy, all of London, KY; two grandchildren, Monica Morgan Jones and Amber Benge, both of London, KY, plus a host of family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Richard and Bertha Sparks Morgan; and one son, Michael Edward Morgan. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in London. He was a retired Director of Pupil Personnel with the Laurel County Board of Education, having worked for more than 35 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was also a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, the Kentucky High School Athletic Association, American Legion, AARP, and Union College Alumni Association. Funeral services for Richard Morgan will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 beginning at 4:30 p.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org/donate. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
