Ruby Carnahan Hibbard

Ruby Carnahan Hibbard, age 91, of London, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024. She leaves behind two children, Robert Lee Hibbard & wife Mary of London, KY, James Arkus Hibbard of Corbin, KY; three grandchildren, Robert Arkus Hibbard, William Josh Crihfield, Lauren Vaughn; a special friend, Carol Brown; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arkus Hibbard; her parents, Robert G. & Stella Caudill Carnahan; and by three siblings, Jean C. Wagers, Robert E. Carnahan, James R. Carnahan. Ruby dedicated 41 years of her life to shaping young minds as a school teacher in Clay County, where her passion for education touched the lives of many students. Ruby was well-known for her love of the outdoors, often spending time fishing and enjoying the peacefulness of nature. She was also a spirited fan of UK Wildcats football, cheering for her favorite team with unwavering loyalty. In her leisure time, Ruby found joy in baking delicious cakes, often sharing them with family and friends, creating sweet memories that will never be forgotten. A game of bingo was always a favorite pastime. Ruby had a special fondness for Russell Stover chocolates, and her sweet tooth was well-known among her loved ones. Her warmth, kindness, and dedication to others will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the countless students she taught over her remarkable career. Funeral services for Ruby Carnahan Hibbard will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Ethan Carnahan officiating. Burial will follow at the Carnahan Family Cemetery in Manchester, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the service hour, also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
