Shirley Stokes Brown

Shirley Stokes Brown, age 85, of London, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025. She leaves behind her husband, Troy Wayne Brown; two children, Beverly Parman & husband Bobby Joe, and Sandra Brown, all of London, KY; two siblings, Charles Robert Stokes & wife Varlene of East Bernstadt, KY, Raleigh L. Stokes of London, KY; three grandchildren, Angie Hacker, Jerrod Reid, Josh Reid; eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raleigh & Bertha Ward Stokes; her brother, William Acia Stokes; and by her grandson, Chris Brown. Shirley was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. A lifelong resident of London, Shirley retired from Flav-O-Rich after 20 years of dedicated service. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—quilting beautiful creations, spending time on the golf course, and cherishing every moment with her family. Her love for the ocean was undeniable, and she found peace in the sound of the waves and the salty breeze. Shirley’s kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A funeral service honoring Shirley Stokes Brown will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Vince Mullins officiating. Interment will follow at A. R. Dyche Memorial Park in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Monday beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home.
