Stanley was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of hard work, laughter, and love for his family. He was a man who believed in working hard, taking care of those he loved, and finding joy in the simple things in life.
Stanley was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a veteran of World War II. His service to his country was an important part of his life, and he carried with him the values of dedication, courage, and perseverance throughout the years.
Following his military service, Stanley worked at Laurel Grocery, where he dedicated many years of his life before retiring. He was never one to sit still for long, however, and always found something to keep his hands busy. He loved to work and took great pride in being productive. He especially enjoyed gardening and raising tobacco, activities that allowed him to spend time outdoors and work with his hands.
Those who knew Stanley will remember him not only for his strong work ethic, but also for his wonderful sense of humor. He was a funny man with a gift for storytelling, and he could often bring laughter to those around him with one of his stories or a quick-witted remark. His stories, his laughter, and his unique personality will be remembered and treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Above all else, Stanley loved his family. He treasured every opportunity to visit with them and enjoyed the time spent together, creating memories that will live on for generations. His family was one of his greatest joys, and his love and devotion to them could be seen in the many ways he cared for and supported them throughout his life.
Stanley was of the Baptist faith and held his faith close to his heart. He lived a life marked by hard work, service, faith, family, and plenty of laughter.
Though he will be deeply missed, Stanley’s memory will live on through the stories he told, the laughter he shared, the lessons he taught, and most of all, through the family he loved so dearly. His life touched many, and the memories he leaves behind will be cherished for years to come.
