Steven Ray Perkins, age 66, of Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024. He leaves behind his loving wife, Lynn Perkins; four children, Kimberly Owens & husband Willie of Grey, KY, Brenda Baker of London, KY, Ashley Smith of London, KY, Val Perkins of North Carolina; five siblings, Lisa Engles, Ernie Parrott, Karen Goley, Shala Abbott, Alisha Zeader; nine grandchildren, Jordan Rose, Abigail Cope, Brooklyn Perkins, Brooklyn Smith, Seth Shelton, Lukas Perkins, Nathan Perkins, Lottie Owens, Ronald Owens; two very special friends, Charlotte Whittle, Ronald Whithers; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Ray & Leota Leach Perkins; his son, Charles Perkins; three siblings, Shirley Engles, David Ray Perkins, Judy Alvarez; and by his granddaughter, Jenna Rose Perkins. Steven was a retired carpenter and proud United States Army veteran. He leaves behind a legacy of integrity, hard work, and deep love for his family and faith. Steven was known for his honesty and dependability—a man who could always be counted on. He found joy in the quiet moments, whether it was in the woods hunting, by the water fishing, or surrounded by those he held dear. Above all, Steven was a man of faith who loved the Lord and lived his life as a testament to that love. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the lives of those he touched. Funeral services for Steven Ray Perkins will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Joe Hammonds officiating. Burial will follow at Turner Cemetery in Keavy, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 28, 2024 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the service hour, also at the funeral home.
