Sue Broadrick Buchanan

Sue Broadrick Buchanan, 99, of Fountain Inn, SC and formerly of London, KY passed away on April 13, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Jesse McAfee and Laura Cordelia Bryant Broadrick and wife of the late Reuel H. Buchanan. Sue had a lifelong history of participating in the United Methodist Church in London, KY and raised her children in church. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and in weddings. She could always be called upon to sing at events when needed. She met her husband, Reuel at Sue Bennett College in London. She was the first non-native Laurel Countian to receive the Loving Cup at the Laurel County Homecoming. She was a supporter and defender of her family and was always available to those who needed a wing to shelter under. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Buchanan of SC; four grandchildren David Buchanan (Stephanie) and Becky Buchanan of KY; Christine M. Douglas of CA; and Mark Buchanan of NY; five great grandchildren John Combs Buchanan, Emma Grace Buchanan and Trosper David Buchanan all of KY; Cole Douglas and Owen Douglas of CA. Also left to cherish her memory are many numerous friends in Kentucky and upstate New York. She was predeceased by a daughter Emily B. Millbyer and a son John W. Buchanan. A private graveside service was held at the A. R. Dyche Memorial Park on April 18, 2020 in London, KY with Terry Hedges officiating.
