Virgil L. Mosley

–

London, Kentucky

Virgil L. Mosley, age 80, of London, Kentucky passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Wanda S. Rudder Mosley; two children, Michael Shane Mosley (Mary Sue), Pamela Denise Nicley (Bruce), all of London, KY; two grandchildren, Mathew Nicley, Tori Grubb; five great grandchildren; one brother, Billy Ray Mosley (Francine) of London, KY; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray & Ida Barnard Mosley.

Virgil was a hardworking, devoted, and dependable man whose life was centered around his family, his work, his faith, and the things he loved doing with his own two hands. He was a man who took pride in staying busy and could often be found working on something, tending to his farm, or enjoying the outdoors.

Virgil worked for 33 years with Navistar International, where he built a long and dedicated career. He was also proud to have served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force. His military service was an important part of his life and reflected the same sense of dedication and responsibility that he carried into everything he did.

Virgil was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, where his faith was an important part of his life. He valued his church family and the fellowship he shared with others through his faith.

Virgil had a deep love for the outdoors and farming. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and especially loved spending time on his tractor. There was something special about being out on the land, working with his hands, and taking care of the things around him. He was naturally a person who liked to fix, build, repair, and work on things, and he found satisfaction in seeing a job through from beginning to end.

Above all, Virgil loved his family. They were the most important part of his life, and he cherished the time he spent with them. His family will remember him not only for the things he did, but for the love, strength, and steady presence he brought into their lives.

Virgil will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His hardworking spirit, love of the outdoors, pride in his service, and devotion to his family will be remembered for generations to come. Though he is no longer here to share in life's everyday moments, the memories he created and the love he gave will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

A funeral service honoring Virgil L. Mosley will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Pastor Trent Pool officiating. Military honors will be provided by the local DAV Chapter 158 of Keavy, Kentucky. Interment will follow at Barnard Cemetery in London, Kentucky.
